fashion camera straps

I have probably been coveting several versions of these for about two years. Again, the DIY-er in me kept thinking I could/would just knock it off. I have gone so far as to remove the strap from my film 35mm and was going to use that strap...just in case things did not work out well. Lo and behold today I run across this: a DSLR strap slipcover tutorial. Absolutely genious! I must make time to give this a try.
For those of you into instant gratification, check these out:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_2&listing_id=17097329 : stop the presses, covers are available for sale too!

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_6&listing_id=17084874: quick release straps
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_13&listing_id=17077814:reversible

http://mysugarplumbaby.com/susiepics.html: more sleeves/covers

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_6&listing_id=15962829: the original, ribbon covered strap

An internal conflict rages after all these search results: do I make one or simply add these to my Christmas list?! Pin It

Thanks for this post. I have wanted a camera strap from Etsy for a while, but didn't really want to spend a whole lot of money. Let me know how the slipcover turns out and please post photos of your finished project.
