Thursday: Baked or Grilled Chicken Breasts, Veggie
Friday: ?

Yesterday my family had brunch at the Palm Court at the Hilton Netherland Plaza. It had been years since we enjoyed this luxury and it was worth every penny...and calorie! Best tastes of the day:

Haricots Verts in some kind of divine white sauce with onions and mushrooms
Made to order Omelets
Shrimp Cocktail
Mini Red Velvet Dessert Parfaits
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Creme Brulee delivered specially to our table with a birthday candle Pin It

picasa tips

I have had some good dialogue regarding using Picasa to organize digital scrapbooking supplies, over at the Little Dreamer blog. If you'd like to follow along, here is Post 1. And then yesterday's follow up.

And a fun fall picture for good measure!!

muffin tin monday: funny face edition

The tin had no theme, I just wanted to do it one last time before school starts this week. The girls went out on this tangent all on their own.
This is a rather wide view showing my woefully outdated kitchen decor. Border: gotta go. Window treatments: bye bye. Ceiling fan: out of here. Now, to get my husband on board with this. We actually did alot of updating when we moved here, only that was 11 years ago, and it is time to revisit some of these areas again. But why is it so hard to convince a man of this?

muffin tin monday--ice cream topping edition

With the puppy' surgery, several hours spent at Kings Island, and then an extra trip back to the vet...neither lunch or dinner was served from muffin tins. However, it makes a great container for an assortment of ice cream toppings.

Shelby spooning up the syrup.
A macro shot of toppings.
A yummy face.
And Olivia adding crushed heath bars to her bowl.

my major thrifting finds & muffin tin monday, pm edition

I wandered into the local thrift store late last week and it was 50% off all furniture that day. I found this King Size headboard and paid $5. Right now, I call our Master Bedroom the dorm room b/c it is a hodgepodge of mismatched furniture, and we have NO headboard. I think this has some serious potential in either white or maybe even something more fun like blue, or green? If that goes totally wrong, it will make a terrific, heavy base for an upholstered headboard, right? Always working the Plan B, I am.
And then I saw this chair. It came home with me for $6. I only wish there had been two with arms b/c a pair would be even more splendid. I already purchased black spray paint for this one and I plan to get some black and white fabric for the seat cover, maybe a toile.

We had friends over to swim at lunch on Monday so the muffin tins came out for dinner and were brought to the girls by the letter P.
Popcorn
Pink Lemonade
Peaches
Pineapple
Pudding
Pasta (Mac N Cheese)

My girls have started to tell others about muffin tin monday which is quite confusing to the unsuspecting human trying to figure out what the heck they are talking about!
