wouldn't my new fabric look lovely like this...

(picture from Posie Gets Cozy blog)

Love this blog. It is one of the big influences over the past few years that got me to try machine sewing again. So, since I am recently about all things quilted, these pillows are WAY appealing to me. Also, a shortcut to quilting? Am I dreaming? I really hope to try this out soon. I fear I have missed something in her directions though and will somehow mess up my new little fabric stash. So please, cross your fingers I get it right. OK? Pin It

i finally ordered fabric online

I have been tempted over and over by the fat quarter packs calling my name. Designer, already matched fabrics in a nice little bundle...I just needed to try it for myself. And here is what I got! The Wildwood Pack 3 from Sew Mama Sew. It is darling and I am so excited that my kids' are both on summer vacation now and that I might get some time to create some of the cool things I see online. I need to get my house in order first, and get some other things crossed off both my personal and professional to-do lists but after that, I am READY. I placed my order on Sunday night and it arrived today. Everything is packaged so nicely in cello bags, it was like a gift to me, from me :) I also picked up some half yards of Katie Jump Rope fabric that they had on sale. Caution: what I thought was red in many of the prints, from viewing them so small online, is actually orange. I love every bit I got but the one piece of "small floral red" really isn't going to go with the others. Cute on it's own though! Pin It

the target dollar spot

I struck gold tonight. Who doesn't walk by and at least pick up a few things? The temptation is always so great but tonight, I had dog collar and leash on my shopping list so imagine the thrill when I found those for a buck!!?? Seriously, they are the "nicer" dog collars with the ribbon attached to the nylon webbing. The leashes are a bit short, and the clasp is not great quality, but it will be fine for my monster dog, Skipper. I got two sets. Skipper will be ready for the July 4th Holiday, I am just sayin...

(pics to follow once the sun returns and i can catch speedy dog on film/disk)

They also had a ton of the recycled type grocery sacks in all different sizes and styles. Those Target people are just always right on the mark, huh?...pun intended! Pin It
